American Legion Post 219
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919
as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.
Preamble to the Legion Constitution
FOR GOD AND COUNTRY WE ASSOCIATE OURSELVES TOGETHER
FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America;
To maintain law and order;
To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism;
To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars;
To inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation;
To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;
To make right the master of might;
To promote peace and goodwill on earth;
To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy;
To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
Our Post's Executive Board meet is on the last Monday of the month at 6pm.
Our General Membership meeting is on the first Thursday of the month at 6pm.
Services To The Nation, State, and Community
Post 219 Legion of Florida, are active within the community by supporting local first responders, children and youth, veteran causes, and other items dealing with Americanism.
Unit 219 are heavily active with Girls State, helping out with a peanut butter drive, and other community projects.
The Sons Of The American Legion are heavily active with Boys State and other programs with the community.
The Post Riders welcome anyone with a Motorcycle and a member of Post 219 to join. Members of other posts are welcome to join in with the rides.
